Special Projects: Cambridge Greek Lexicon

We are honoured to produce some amazing and special commissions for institutions and individuals, a wonderful example of this was a special set of The Cambridge Greek Lexicon, a dictionary of the Ancient Greek language that took 23 years to complete.

Our team was tasked with producing 106 copies of this bespoke edition 2 volume set, plus a custom slip case to house the titles.

The books were section sewn with rounded and backed spines, finished with silver gilt to all 3 edges plus custom silk endpapers to top it off.

For covers, a full aniline, vegetable tanned African leather is sourced from Winter & Company & brass blocking plates are created for us by Metallic Elephant, before our artisan team apply the silver foil, supplied via the incredible team at Foilco.

Working hand-in-hand with market leading suppliers on cover material, paper stocks and finishing options guarantees we offer bespoke services that match our own quality of design, print and bookbinding.

Once the books are finished, they are left to settle under the press, while our team get to work on the slipcase.

The slipcase are made from classic linen, complimented with white lining, a beautiful clear foiled display frame to the front and back, and a silver foil spine, replicating the books within.
